Full Moon Farm sells a large variety of Certified Organic potted culinary herbs. These herbs provide the basis for all the products produced on the farm. All products from Full Moon Farm are certified organic and carry the USDA seal.
We have a variety of culinary dried leaf. These are high quality and fresh. We are a small farm, and this allows us to use care and time in our selection and curing of our dried herbs. We separate and package only the leaf (no stem, seed or flowering parts). The fresh cut herbs are dried on food grade stainless steel screen in the processing building located on the farm. This facility is certified by the Virginia Department of Agriculture for food handling and production. All Dried Culinary herbs are offered in two types of packaging - a biodegradable baga with a degradable and ecco friendly label, and a 4oz glass spice bottle.
Hydrosols and Essential Oils are produced through the process of steam distillation. Plant material is placed in a vessel and water is boiled below the herbs. The steam passes through the plant material. As the plant cells break open, the volatile elements of the plant are released and rise with the steam. After passing through a condenser, there are two products: (All Hydrosols and Essential Oils are food grade (suitable for food, cosmetic and therapeutic use).
